We know it’s a competitive market for qualified children's social workers and children's social work managers.

So we are offering additional payments and incentives to encourage you to join us in Bury.
Children's social worker managers will receive a £1,000 “welcome” payment after they join Bury Council on a permanent contract.
Once you have arrived we want you to stay, so we’ll pay another £1,000 retention payment at the beginning of your second year with us.
For qualified children's social work workers you’ll get a £1,000 loyalty payment at the end of your first year and a further £1,000 at the end of your second year.
We’ll provide free car parking for qualified children's social workers who are based in the town centre – worth an additional £860 a year.
Children's social workers who are based at locations outside the town centre or at Bury police station also receive free car parking.
We’ll also pay your annual Social Work England registration fees – worth an extra £90.
