Direct Payments Case Worker

Hours: 18.5 hours per week

Salary: NJC Grade F, SCP 19-24, £29,777 - £33,024 pro rata per annum

An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated, highly organised person to work in our Direct Payments Team within Adult Social Care.

You will be part of a friendly team, supporting people who have chosen to access care using Direct Payments.

As a caseworker, you will be allocated cases and will be required to:

  • Have the ability to work as part of a team and independently using own initiative.   
  • Be an excellent communicator with the ability to guide and support users and prospective users of the scheme in recruitment and employment issues. 
  • To monitor, support, advise and facilitate users of the scheme to manage their Direct Payments packages and finances.
  • To check, monitor and analyse the financial records and other evidence held by recipients in respect of their Direct Payments. 
  • To undertake home visits and develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • To actively promote and raise awareness of Direct Payments and contribute to the ongoing developments of the service.
  • To maintain up to date information regarding employment issues and agency provision.
