Your Role


The Active Travel Support Officer provides administrative and technical support to the Active Travel Team to help us efficiently deliver a wide range of programmes and projects.

This includes being responsible for using and managing financial and procurement systems; managing mailboxes and dealing with enquiries from suppliers and the public; supporting our events programmes and providing administrative support to the TfGM cycle training programme.

Who are we?

 

This is an exciting time for walking, wheeling & cycling across Greater Manchester with the development of the Bee Network and associated activity. The Active Travel Team delivers a wide range of programmes and projects across Greater Manchester with the aim of encouraging and enabling the take up of active travel and supporting the growth of the Bee Network.

 Work ranges from projects that work directly with schools, pupils, parents/carers and the local community through to promoting and supporting new infrastructure being developed as part of the Bee Active Network.

What you’ll bring

 We’re looking for someone who has excellent excel, organisation, interpersonal and written communication skills and be proficient in producing, manging, and analysing surveys (via software such as Snap Surveys). 

As an Active Travel Support Officer you’ll be confident in setting up and maintaining administrative systems including finance, contacts, and project databases. You will be a strong team player who can also work effectively on an individual basis, have experience of working in partnership with local authority and the voluntary sector and interested in promoting the benefits of active and sustainable transport.

We are looking for a new team member to join us on a fixed term contract until March 2026.

·       A salary of £26,029 - £27,841 per annum depending on skills and experience
