Thought about fostering but don’t know where to start?

Our online fostering information events are designed to give you an introduction to fostering, and why you would choose to foster with your local council.

To register for a place, see Fostering For Your Local Authority Virtual Information Event Tickets, Multiple Dates | Eventbrite

Fostering is looking after a child or young person who can’t live with their own family. There are a number of reasons they might not be able to live with their family and it can be a very difficult time for the child so they’ll needs lots of support and care.

Bolton Fostering team are looking for new households to become foster carers. We will provide support every step of the way including a financial allowance and training

What are Bolton’s Fostering Team looking for?

We’re looking to recruit foster carers for different sections of our service including for children in short-term placements, those who can specifically care for teenagers or who are able to care for sibling groups.   Wherever possible we aim to place siblings together in order to maintain the bond and promote attachment that siblings have to one another.

What do I need to do?

Carers must be able to demonstrate they have the time, availability, space and empathy to offer a child or children.  We need carers who can show commitment, understanding and compassion to children during difficult times.

We provide our foster carers with an excellent training, support and financial package and will help guide them through the assessment process and work with them as a team to ensure the needs of the foster carer and the child are met.
