In Adult Safeguarding our goal is to empower and work with people to enable individuals to live gloriously ordinary lives where they are free from abuse and neglect.

As part of our ongoing work to support our frontline practitioners we are pleased to offer the opportunity for an experienced safeguarding lead practitioner to join us in this exciting new role. Utilising your extensive skills and experience to guide social work practitioners to support and empower the residents of Blackpool to remain independent to enable them to live longer and more safely in their own communities.

We are looking to recruit a Practice Development Lead for Safeguarding with a focus in Adult Social Care in our community and Health-linked teams.

The focus of this role is on the continuous development and embedding of safeguarding practice. These roles are integral to supporting staff as well as managing a small caseload of safeguarding enquiries. The role will be instrumental in promoting a learning culture, providing systems advice, and driving Continuous Professional Development across the Adult Social Care Teams.

These post holders as well as carrying their own caseload of safeguarding work, will also work alongside the management team to embed robust evidence-based practice, ensure Making Safeguarding Personal is a priority and also help ensure that our policies, procedures and training in this field continue to be fit for purpose.

This work will include the direct mentoring and coaching of less experienced staff and some joint working, general safeguarding-related information and advice giving as well as direct training, and leading on peer support and feedback via both written and verbal reports to appropriate governance.

The role will also support the Team Managers in interpreting quality assurance feedback and data from safeguarding audits, and drive forward best practice.  It will also work with and develop better partnership-working with Blackpool Providers alongside our health colleagues to achieve the best outcomes and facilitate improved provision of services for the people of Blackpool.
