About the Role
Rossendale Borough Council is seeking a Senior Planning Officer to play a key role in shaping the future of our borough through the delivery of our Forward Planning Service.
In this exciting role, you’ll help prepare and deliver Rossendale’s Local Plan and associated planning policy documents, manage evidence bases, and represent the Council at key meetings, public inquiries, and partnership groups. You’ll also support Neighbourhood Forums, maintain up-to-date web content, and ensure our planning processes remain transparent and effective.
What we’re looking for:
Membership or eligibility for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)
Strong knowledge of Local Plan procedures and current planning issues
Excellent communication and report-writing skills
Experience with GIS, Microsoft Office, and planning systems
A collaborative, proactive approach and commitment to high-quality customer service
A full UK driving licence
