Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is delivering the Bee Network the UK’s first fully integrated, zero-emission public transport system outside London. With over £2.5 billion committed investment to enhance and develop our infrastructure transport network over the next 5 years, we’re transforming how people move across our region.

We’re now recruiting experienced Project Managers (Level 2) to manage the delivery of on-highway bus infrastructure and Streets for All projects.

Your Role

As a level 2 Project Manager, you’ll:

  • Lead the delivery of complex highways infrastructure projects to time, cost and quality.
  • Proactively manage key stakeholders and work in partnership with third parties to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage relationships, budgets, risks and reporting.
  • Guide project teams and mentor junior colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with TfGM’s project management procedures and governance.

Who are we?

Welcome to Projects Group, part of Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) - we are responsible for ensuring the organisation has firm foundations to successfully develop and deliver a large, complex and technically diverse portfolio of capital and revenue projects and programmes across Greater Manchester - on time, within budget and with the customer at the heart of what we do!

This role sits within the Bus Infrastructure projects team, working on projects that will provide quicker, more reliable bus journeys; supporting the local economy and opening up opportunities for everyone.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong track record of successfully delivering large-scale highway infrastructure projects to time, cost and standard.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently with diverse audiences and is able to develop effective work relationships with stakeholders at varying levels both internal and external to the organisation.
  • Manages budgets, risks and stakeholder expectations effectively.
  • Brings experience of managing people and teams and a collaborative mindset.
  • Is educated to degree level (or equivalent) and ideally holds or is working towards a project management qualification.
