Young people in Blackpool are co-leading a Resilience Revolution, and we want everyone to know about it! Rooted in the values and principles associated with social justice, the Resilience Revolution both supports young people and communities across Blackpool to overcome adversity, as well as address and challenge the inequalities impacting on their mental health. We call this ‘beating the odds’ whilst also ‘changing the odds’.
We are proud of what we are achieving together, and are ready to share our learning, influence policy, and disrupt systems that negatively affect mental health and wellbeing; we believe this is key to mobilising more people to join our movement for social change. Yes we have our issues in Blackpool, but we are a lot more than that. We are determined to build on our strengths and make Blackpool a resilient town. And that’s where you come in!
We are seeking a Lead for Policy, Campaigns and Communication to join us and work alongside young people, parents / carers, community groups, professionals, leaders, politicians and policy makers. Working co-productively, the role will connect our work with national think tank organisations and government departments in order to shape policy, as well as lead the communication strategy across Blackpool. You will be knowledgeable about young people’s mental health policy and practice, and have a track record of delivering successful communication and campaigning activity for a broad audience. You will need to be creative, aspirational and hardworking, and able to live with disrupting the status quo when needed.
