Devonshire Primary Academy

Contract: Temporary (31st August 2023)

Hours: 12.50 hours per week

Salary: SVT Grade B SCP3-4 £18,887 - £19,264 per annum, pro rata

Devonshire Primary Academy wish to appoint a temporary Cleaner to work alongside our cleaning team and Site Supervisor.  This full year post is 12.5 hours per week; 3:00 – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.  This is a temporary contract, until 31/08/2023 in the first instance, with the successful applicant starting as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will be reliable, proactive and efficient and show commitment to health and safety and the welfare of our children, staff and visitors.

The successful candidate will:

  • Undertake cleaning of allocated areas in line with specified standards and as directed;
  • Operate/use domestic and industrial cleaning equipment and materials, following appropriate training;
  • Be responsible for storing allocated equipment and materials safely and securely;
  • Perform duties in line with health and safety regulations (COSHH) and take action where hazards are identified, report problems with equipment and serious hazards to line manager immediately;
  • Handle cleaning materials in line with COSHH regulations;
  • Collect and dispose of waste;
  • Refill and replace soap, towels and other consumables;
  • Adhere to safeguarding procedures;
  • Undertake specialised cleaning programmes during school closures or other designated periods;
  • Demonstrate cleaning duties to new or less experienced staff;
  • Take some responsibility for security of buildings.
