Your role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us as part of our Grounds Maintenance team based at Moss Side, Leyland, carrying out various horticultural and grounds maintenance activities.

If you have a passion for horticulture along with relevant experience, and a good working knowledge of plants and turf care, you're exactly who we're looking for.

A qualification in Horticulture NVQ 2 (or similar) is essential, as is a clean UK driving license, and experience of using specialist machinery such as triple mowers, tractors and other small plant. The role includes herbicide spraying and so you will need PA1A and PA6 spraying licence.

We’re a busy team, so self-discipline and time management skills are vital. Working closely with colleagues will be important to you, and you'll have the skills to communicate with a range of people.

With initiative and a confident approach in all that you do, you'll take great pride in your work and will be motivated to present grounds and gardens to exceptional standards.

You must be able to work as part of a team, demonstrate a professional and adaptable approach and be willing to work a flexible shift pattern as required to meet the needs of the service.

The post holder will always be required to wear corporate work wear when on duty.

The basic working week is to be determined by the needs of the service and will include an element of flexible working. The post holder may be required, from time to time, to work additional hours in the evenings and/or weekends to deal with statutory duties, public events, emergencies and variable workloads.
