We are looking for an organised and confident individual who can provide dedicated Secretarial support to Bernie Enright, the Executive Director of Adult Social Services.
Adult social care in Manchester is rapidly changing in an exciting way. We are integrating with our partners to form the Manchester Local Care Organisation, which has brought community health and adult social care together as one team for the first time, and Manchester Health and Care Commissioning. Our aim is to improve outcomes by working together.
It’s an exciting time at the Council, with over £11.4 million invested into Adults’ Services. This investment will improve the lives of our most vulnerable residents and ensure people in Manchester requiring Adult Social Care can stay independent, stay well and live the life they choose.
We are looking for someone who is methodical and has strong organisation skills, and who takes initiative and is proactive in highlighting potential issues or conflicts. This may be a challenging aspect of the role, taking into consideration the breadth of the Executive Director’s role across the three organisations/partnerships: Manchester Local Care Organisation, Manchester Health and Care Commissioning and Manchester City Council.
You will need to be a strong communicator and have excellent interpersonal skills. This will include adapting the style of your communication as necessary for all levels of audience, including Councillors, senior staff in partner organisations and vulnerable adults, and ensuring that this information is understood.
You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive executive support service to the Executive Director of Adult Social Services . This will include complex diary management, organising travel and events, attending and supporting meetings, producing minutes, and other Secretarial duties.
