Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract for Up to 12 Months.

Salary: Grade G SCP 23 £26,800.88 – SCP 28 £30,872.88 (Actual Salary)

Hours: 32 Hours per Week

Base Location: Tameside Housing Advice, 119-125 Old Street, Ashton under Lyne

This is an exciting opportunity to join our busy team at Tameside Housing Advice. The team is responsible for the Council’s statutory homelessness and housing needs service. This includes homeless prevention, housing advice, Temporary Accommodation, administration of the Council’s Housing Register, and allocations of social housing. The Council’s Rough Sleeper team is also based within the service.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work as a Homeless Prevention Officer in the service, fixed term for 12 months.

Your main role will be around the prevention and relief of homelessness. We are looking for individuals who understand the causes and reasons for homelessness and have a working knowledge of the current legislation. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You should have experience of working with vulnerable people across a range of issues and the ability to work collaboratively with customers and a range of partners to secure a suitable housing solution.

You will be required to participate in a duty rota to provide face to face services to people who are homeless or at risk of being homeless which means these posts are office based.
