Salary: £23,114 - £23,893 (full time full year equivalent)

Actual Salary: £13,871 to £14,362 per annum (Grade 2)

Hours: 22 per week

Based: Oldham Council Music Centre, The Lyceum Building, Union Street, Oldham OL1 1QG

Role Overview:

To provide comprehensive, higher level administrative and Service specific support to the Senior Leadership, Admin and teaching teams of the Oldham Music Service as well as responding appropriately to queries from Service users.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure the Music Service database is kept up to date by inputting, producing invoices, & reviewing information to provide reports for finance, teaching, schools, senior managers when required.
  • To use the Council’s Agresso system, raise invoices, purchase goods & credit notes, monitor external trips’ finances, process journals, petty cash and instrument purchases.
  • To provide cover on reception if required and to have/acquire knowledge, experience of dealing with musical instruments both outgoing and incoming.
  • Monitor student tuition accounts and payers and implement the process for resolving outstanding/overdue payments.

Key Requirements: 

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

  • To be prepared to be the first point of contact and to respond to customers’ queries via email/phone or face to face.  You must be ready to seek any specific advice from colleagues/music centre teachers if required.  You must have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • The ability to handle and manipulate extensive databases and complex financial transactions.
  • The ability to work under pressure to competing priorities and demands.
