Fostering Plus Foster Carers (fostering children with additional needs)
£650 - £764 per week tax free (depending on the age of the children)

Fostering Plus carers provide specialist fostering care for children with significant learning and physical disabilities who need 24 hour care.

You can be single or in a partnership and one carer needs to be available full time. If you have birth children, it's usually expected that they are of secondary school age. This is because most children placed with Foster Plus carers will need to be the youngest child in the foster home.

You must have previous experience of working with children or young people.

You'll receive support from a wide range of agencies, co-ordinated by the fostering service. The training package is tailored to the individual needs of carers and young people in the foster home.

We provide our foster carers with an excellent training, support and tax free financial package and benefits and discounts.

We offer local discounts to our foster carers, tax advice and local support groups where our carers receive peer-to-peer support from other foster carers in Stockport.

If you would like to find out more about the role and how to enquire about being a foster carer with Stockport Council then please email fosteringstockport@stockport.gov.uk or call 0161 474 3400.

No need to send a CV as we will discuss this career opportunity with you during an informal discussion with our qualified social workers.

The successful applicant’s appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment clearances including a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
