Contract - Permanent Hours - 37hrs Salary - NJC Grade H3 £47,181 - £51,356 per annum Closing Date - 11th November 2025 at 23.59pm This exciting role could see you play a leading part in communicating how Blackpool Council delivers vital services to over 140,000 residents. This is a pivotal role in shaping how the council engages with residents, stakeholders, and the wider public through press, broadcast, and digital channels. As Media Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering proactive media strategies, managing press relations, and ensuring our messaging is clear, timely, and impactful. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, service departments, councillors and external partners to promote the council services and protect its reputation. We're looking for somebody who lives and breathes news and the media, is an excellent storyteller, and is confident offering advice to senior leaders. You'll also offer strategic advice on internal and external marketing campaigns, as well as being responsible for monitoring how Blackpool and the council are reflected in the media. No day is the same. One day you could be arranging a major media announcement, then the next running an internal event to hundreds of members of staff.
