Requirements of the Post:
The Senior Teaching Assistant will take responsibility for the agreed learning activities across our sites and ensure the continuity of delivery in all areas to support pupil’s progress and development. They will monitor, assess record and report on pupils progress and achievements.

Main Duties:
The suitable candidate will be expected to:

• Assess, assist, supervise and support pupils to access a range of learning activities.
• Contribute to person centred reviews and positive handling plans.
• Deliver learning activities within an agreed system of supervision for individual and groups of pupils.
• Make effective use of ICT in learning activities.
• Work with teachers to plan lessons producing appropriate resources to meet agreed learning objectives.
• Implement pupil personal programmes including health, social, physical, hygiene and welfare matters.
• Co-ordinate specified interventions.
• Provide cover for classes during short-term absence

About Kingsland School:
Kingsland School is a split site provision catering for pupils aged 11 16 years of age.
Our Broadbent Road site is a Pupil Referral Unit which offers Day 6 provision for those pupils who have been permanently excluded from an Oldham Secondary School or Academy. Our second site, known as Laurel Bank currently hosts our Specialist Learning Centre and is based in Shaw, Oldham. This provision is for pupils experiencing social, emotional or mental health and medical needs which creates a barrier to their attendance at school. This site also hosts our unique provision catering for pupils from the SLC with an Educational Health Care Plan and is the base for our Primary Outreach Service.
