We wish to recruit an Assistant Caretaker to join our site management team.

We are looking for a practical, well-motivated person to manage the maintenance and security of the school premises, ensuring a safe working environment.


Duties will include:

  • Main Key holder 
  • Supervision of cleaning staff.
  • Routine inspections of the building
  • Maintenance schedule to include painting, decorating, repairs, plumbing, carpentry skills and other duties as required by the Headteacher
  • Repairing all defects (within own competence) and arranging specialist help when required.
  • Carrying out appropriate tests (fire alarm, water, etc) and maintaining appropriate records.

Applicants must have:

  • Previous proven experience in a similar environment
  • A highly motivated individual with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • A good level of general maintenance and ideally be skilled in a trade
  • Proven experience in lone working and problem solving
  • A good level of speaking, reading and writing English

This post will also require you to be flexible throughout your working day and may include on occasions key holding outside your usual hours.
