The Council has a proven track record of delivering high standards of parks management and grounds maintenance which results in numerous annual quality awards, including 6 Green Flag Award winning parks. An exciting opportunity has arisen for Arborist’s groundworker to work within the Council’s Parks and Coastal Services, undertaking the maintenance of the borough’s tree stock as well as the delivery of a range of contracts. Successful candidate will be accomplished grounds person and have proven knowledge in all aspects of tree work. Reporting to the Senior Arborist, you will be undertaking all aspects of arboricultural work including felling, pruning, crown lifting, reduction and thinning. You will need a good knowledge of tree identification and arboricultural practices. Experience in use of chippers and stump grinders is preferable. You must be able to identify and take appropriate action to deal with defects in trees. Successful candidates should ideally have previous experience in a similar role, be conscious of the strict health and safety environment in which they are working and be able to work to tight deadlines. You will be reliable, self-motivated, courteous to customers and a good team player. You are required to hold NPTC Certificates of Competence in chainsaw use, felling and pruning and hold a full driving license. For full details please see the attached Job Description.
