Contract Type: Full Time
Working Hours: Permanent, 35 hours per week

Qualifications Required: British Sign Language Level 2 (or ability to demonstrate working at this level).
Salary: £28,598 - £32,061 per annum (NJC Scale 12–19)
 
 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they meet the following points, either in their application, at an interview or through taking part in a test.

Experience:

  • Experience working with children or young people with hearing needs.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children and adults.
  • Experience working as part of a team.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of the role of Teaching Assistants and other classroom professionals.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding children in education settings.
  • Understanding of child development and learning processes.
  • Knowledge of curriculum frameworks and barriers to learning.
  • Awareness of health and safety in education and off-site activities.

 

Skills:

  • Ability to support and lead learning activities for small groups.
  • Ability to plan, organise and adapt activities to meet pupil needs.
  • Effective use of ICT and specialist hearing equipment.
  • Ability to organise resources and audit equipment.
  • Willingness to engage in training, supervision and performance management.

 

Personal:
