What you’ll be doing:
Core IT & Infrastructure
• Providing a solid base of traditional IT and infrastructure support
• Acting as a systems administrator for key platforms and services
• Contributing to infrastructure and platform projects (on-prem and cloud)
• Occasionally assisting with second-line support for more complex technical issues
Improving how systems are used
• Working with services to understand the systems they rely on and how they use them
• Helping embed good practice around system configuration, ownership, and lifecycle management
• Supporting the creation and maintenance of clear system documentation
Automation, data & transformation
• Making smart use of existing tools to automate tasks and streamline business processes
• Helping improve how systems are configured and connected so they better support services
• Working with data and reporting to build clearer insight and readiness for future organisational change
• Supporting work that prepares the organisation for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and wider transformation
Governance, assurance & continuity
• Leading and coordinating IAA and IAO working groups
• Being a point of contact for information governance, risk, and technical assurance queries
• Working with teams to embed good governance, continuity, and disaster recovery practices
• Helping ensure systems are resilient, understood, and supportable
Collaboration
• Working closely with colleagues across the organisation to understand needs and design better solutions
