Contract: Casual Hours: Casual Salary: NJC Grade D Fixed SCP 7 £13.69 per hour Closing Date: 5th March 2026 at 23.59pm Casual Drivers required for home to day care establishment/school/college transport You will drive vehicles with passengers attending home to day care establishment/school/college, some of whom may have special educational, complex health needs or mobility problems and may be transported in wheelchairs. You will be responsible for the vehicle you are driving and for all the associated paperwork and documents. You will be responsible for the boarding and alighting of passengers, the securement of wheelchairs ensuring the correct restraint is used etc.. and that all passengers are transported legally and safely. You will work as part of a team with the Passenger Assistant, and you will require excellent communication skills for dealing with face to face service users/parents/carers as well as professionals. Applicants must hold a Full Driving Licence with D1 or Enhanced classification. Successful candidates will be required to complete Blackpool Council's In House Driver Training and Passenger Assistant Training. Permanent positions are recruited initially from those who are casual. In general the hours are over a split shift with an outgoing journey in the mornings and a return journey in the afternoons.
