Contract: Temporary (18 months Secondment)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: Scale 5 SCP12-17 £28,598 - £31,022 per annum

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking individual to join our Waste Minimisation Team on an internal secondment. In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality customer service across waste, recycling, and reuse services throughout the borough. A key focus will be assisting with the implementation of the new Simpler Recycling Regulations, helping both communities and businesses navigate this important transition. This is a varied role that combines office-based responsibilities with community engagement. No two days are the same at the depot, and we’re looking for someone who can manage a dynamic workload with confidence and flexibility, supported by a dedicated team.

About the Role

You will:

  • Support the delivery of waste policies and procedures.
  • Work with the team to monitor and educate on waste and recycling services.
  • Promote participation in waste minimisation and recycling initiatives.
  • Investigate and enforce issues related to mispresented waste and abandoned vehicles.
  • Help organise domestic and commercial waste service infrastructure.
  • Play an active role in managing bulky waste and public conveniences contracts.

 About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience using a range of computer systems.
  • Demonstrates a strong track record of teamwork.
  • Understands issues around waste production, minimisation, and recycling.
  • Possesses strong data analysis and attention to detail.
  • Is proactive in promoting services and initiatives.
  • Brings a positive, productive attitude and champions service success.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence.
