Join us at Stockport Council MJ Local Authority of the Year 2025 Your Role The Neighbourhood service is looking to recruit a Senior Social Worker who has experience of working with adults in line with the Care Act to promote and enhance their well-being. The post holder will provide support with leadership at an appropriate level to establish and maintain a strength-based culture of teamwork, achievement, accountability, and outcome focused. This includes providing supervision and support to the staff team as well as contributing to the ever-developing service. This role will include completing Care Act assessments, support planning and risk assessments with adults. You will be working under the Care Act 2014 and will also be expected to complete mental capacity assessments. You will be joining a well-established team and will be working closely with professionals as part of the wider social work team. You will work in a team but also work autonomously and have experience the Care Act and other relevant legislation. You will also be expected to undertake safeguarding enquiries and work in a strengths based way. About You We are looking for a social worker who is motivated to get the people of Stockport the care that they need whilst ensuring working in a strengths based way and maintaining independence of service users and using community resources in an asset based approach. We are looking for someone who is a qualified and experienced social worker who has knowledge, interest and passion about mental health social work. There is opportunity for career progression, regular supervision formal and informal within our service. There will be opportunity to network with health colleagues and commissioning experience. There will be training opportunities and you will be able to access peer support from a well established team. There will be an opportunity to complete practice educator or AMHP qualification or Best interest assessor qualification.
