Hours: 30 per week

Salary: NJC Grade F SCP 19-24 £32,061 - £35,412 per annum

The Family and Friends Team (Blackpool’s Family Group Conferencing service) is accredited with the Family Rights Group. A Family Group Conference is a family led meeting in which the family and friends network come together to make a plan for a child or young person. The process is a strengths based solution focused approach to support the family to produce a plan to support the child/young person.  

The role of the Family and Friends Coordinator is to work with children, young people and their families to identify wider family and friends who can offer them support. In Blackpool we also use Family Group Conferencing as part of our Life Long Links offer for children and young people who have lost contact with family, carers, friends, neighbours when they became a child in our care.   

Do you have passion and drive for working with families at the point of early help through to court proceedings to take up the offer of attending a family group conference?. You’ll need: 

  • Experience of working with a range of people in what can be difficult circumstances.  
  • Experience in using the voice of children and young people to plan and influence service delivery. 
  • Experience in placing families at the heart of making safe decisions and plans for children. 
  • Excellent communication skills and a tenacious approach 
  • To be a reflective practitioner who embraces and promotes strengths based work with high ambitions.
