If successful with your application, you will join a team of dedicated ICT and business change professionals, with shared objectives to:
  • Develop a deep understanding of council areas and being the council’s trusted advisor and partner;
  • Create the right conditions for the protection & best use of data to support improved council decision making;
  • Lead, instigate and manage the use of innovative digital tools and technologies, and
  • Be the best of breed technology partner in delivery of Council and City ambitions.

You’ll be an influential communicator who can build trust quickly and navigate political–officer environments with confidence. Skilled at persuading and engaging stakeholders at all levels, you’ll bring strong project management expertise — from detailed planning to risk and issue management — and the ability to apply creative, non‑standard solutions when needed. With a strategic mindset, you’ll identify good practice, shape future plans, and use commissioning insight to drive effective services. You’ll also bring line management experience, strong supplier and third‑party management skills, and a clear customer‑focused approach, supported by PRINCE2 Practitioner (or equivalent) and agile project management experience.

We would love to hear from you if you have experience of:
  • Communication Skills - Is able to effectively transfer key and complex information to all levels of staff, adapting the style of communication as necessary and ensuring that this information is understood. 
  •  Project Management: Proven ability in developing a project schedule that clearly defines the project timeline required to achieve the required outcomes. Skills to identify and monitor complex interdependencies, identifying and managing the critical path and utilising the schedule in budget forecasting and planning future resource requirements
  • Planning and Organising: Excellent time management skills, creating own work schedules, prioritising, preparing in advance and setting realistic timescales for own self and others. Has the ability to visualise a sequence of actions needed to achieve a specific goal and how to estimate the resources required.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making: Strong decision making skills with the ability to resolve complex issues in a pressurised environment.
  • Strategic Thinking: Skills to develop measures and methods for monitoring and evaluating performance against the strategic plan.
  • Commissioning Skills: Ability to use the skills and knowledge of partners to inform commissioning intentions in a wide area of activity.
Technical Requirements:
  • Proven experience of successfully managing and delivering a wide range of complex projects within a diverse workload to a structured project management process such as PRINCE 2 or equivalent.
  •  PRINCE 2 practitioner or equivalent.
  • To work flexibly as required to meet customer demand and service requirements.
