The Orchards Federation is seeking an outstanding Lead Practitioner (Teaching and Learning) to join our Leadership Team at Cherry Tree Primary School.

This is a pivotal leadership role for someone passionate about excellence in pedagogy, curriculum innovation and professional development.

About the Role

As Lead Practitioner, you will:

  • Model outstanding teaching and learning across the school
  • Coach and mentor colleagues to secure consistently high standards
  • Play a central role in self-evaluation and school improvement
  • Contribute to curriculum and assessment development

With a 0.7 teaching commitment, you will remain rooted in classroom excellence while driving strategic improvement.

  • Has at least five years’ successful mainstream primary teaching experience
  • Demonstrates outstanding classroom practice across primary key stages
  • Has excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment processes
  • Understands effective pedagogy and evidence-informed teaching approaches
  • Can lead high quality CPD and support staff to embed agreed strategies
  • Demonstrates strong leadership with integrity and empathy
