Waste Operations Manager

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: HO1SCP29-30 £39,862 - £40,777 per annum

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking individual to lead our Waste Operations team. In this role you will lead the delivery of high-quality frontline waste and recycling services, with key focus on the operational delivery of the new Simpler Recycling initiatives, supporting staff and the Fylde community through this important transition. We are looking for someone who can manage a large dynamic workforce with confidence and flexibility, ensuring safe and compliant service delivery.

About the role

In this role, you will:

·     Provide strong, positive leadership and support to staff, ensuring high performance, safe working practices and a positive team culture

·      Oversee efficient delivery of all operational waste services

·  Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures relating to Health & Safety, HR, performance management and customer care

·      Ensure effective recruitment, training, performance monitoring, procurement, and budget management

·      Support the requirements of the Council’s Operators Licence by ensuring fleet safety and compliance

·      Drive continuous improvement and support service development that enhances operational delivery

·      Participate in out-of-hours/emergency arrangements

About You 

We are looking for someone who is:

·       Experienced in waste operations

·       Highly organised, calm under pressure, and able to prioritise effectively

·       A confident communicator, experienced in engagement at all levels who can build productive relationships
