Casual Car Documentation- The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use. This role is a higher-level apprenticeship and as such, the successful applicant will be required to undertake a course of study leading to a The Business Administrator Standards Level 3. If you do not hold grade C/4 in GCSE Maths and or English you will be required to pass a functional skills equivalent as part of the apprenticeship. The Business Support Officers post will sit within the Neighbourhood Project Team . The role will see this post supporting the Neighbourhood Project Team's work on delivering the citywide Biffa partnership scheme set up to tackle fly-tipping across the hot-spots in the city and supporting the Commercial Waste Project officers, in finding all relevant information relating to businesses operation and business owner details, requesting waste contracts details and compiling the information on the a data base. The Neighbourhood Project Team carries out a wide range of regulatory enforcement roles in meeting its many statutory duties which are designed to protect the public, and the environment, through enforcing the law in a fair, equitable and consistent manner. However, it is important to highlight, due to the Department of Education’s funding rules for Apprenticeships, you would be ineligible to apply for this apprenticeship role if you currently have a qualification at Level 3 or above in Business Administration or similar field. Any offer of employment may be withdrawn if it is found that your prior qualifications conflict with the apprenticeship framework. The Business Support Officer will provide direct support for senior managers and Neighbourhood Compliance Officers, this will include electronic diary management, raising of invoices, data entry and general office management. Good ICT & communication skills are essential as the successful candidate's will use a number of systems and will need to communicate effectively to a range of audiences including senior managers, businesses and partners. Essential requirements for the role: People skills are essential for this role and excellent communication both written and verbal. Knowledge and experience of using IT systems, such as Microsoft, Outlook, Word, Excel and typing skills are essential. Much of the role is administration such as compiling written witness statements and photographic exhibits which will later be presented in court. Attention to detail and accuracy is a must for this role. Desirable requirements that would be useful in this role: A driving licence is not essential for this role, however should the successful candidate progress their career within Manchester Council it would be desirable.
