About the role We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to work within Intermediate Care (IMC), supporting adults in Bury to regain skills, confidence and independence following illness, hospital admission or functional decline. The role is based from Killelea House, and currently delivering therapy intervention across bedbased Intermediate Care at Killelea House and Intermediate Care at Home, providing a varied caseload and the opportunity to work across different rehabilitation environments. The post sits within Intermediate Tier Services, and has flexibility to support service delivery across IMC pathways in line with service need. You will work with adults aged 18+ with complex physical, cognitive and psychosocial needs, completing holistic, strengthsbased occupational therapy assessments and delivering timely, outcomefocused interventions that support recovery, enable safe discharge and prevent unnecessary hospital admissions. You will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, working closely with physiotherapists, nurses, social workers, medical and care staff and wider partners to ensure coordinated, personcentred care across both homebased and bedbased settings. The role requires confident autonomous practice, strong clinical reasoning and the ability to adapt interventions to different environments. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will contribute to maintaining high standards of practice, supporting junior staff and students where appropriate, and contributing to service development and quality improvement across Intermediate Care. The post forms part of a sevenday IMC service, requiring flexibility and a proactive approach to meeting service needs, including regular weekend working.
