SALARY: Grade D, Scale points 6-11 pro-rata £19,280-£20,877 (FTE £25989- £28142)

START DATE: 1^st May 2026 or as soon as possible

STATUS OF POSITION: FIXED TERM for 12 months with a view to a permanent position.

HOURS: 31.25 hours Term time plus 2 weeks holiday club cover (across the year)

Monday to Friday 8.45am 3.30pm (30 minutes lunch break)

Blackrod Primary School is a popular school with caring and hard-working staff, and well-behaved friendly children. The Headteacher and governors wish to appoint a dynamic and committed individual to support learning and development of children across the school.

Applicants will need to:-

• Support Learning Across the Curriculum: Work with pupils of varying ages and abilities, providing targeted support in lessons, small groups and 1:1 settings. Assist in the delivery of all curriculum areas, including effective use of ICT to enhance teaching and learning.
• Promote Children’s Development: Nurture pupils’ physical, emotional, social, communication and intellectual development through engaging interactions and tailored support.
• Ensure Safety and Wellbeing: Help maintain a safe, positive learning environment. Support safeguarding procedures, respond to accidents appropriately and encourage safe, responsible behaviour.
• Encourage Positive Behaviour: Model and reinforce positive behaviour strategies, helping children develop self-regulation, confidence and respectful relationships.
• Build Positive Relationships: Communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues and parents, contributing to a warm, inclusive and supportive school atmosphere.
• Support Pupils with SEND: Implement adaptations, interventions and personalised strategies to meet individual needs and remove barriers to learning.
• Enhance Learning Environments: Assist in organising resources, maintaining classroom areas, and contributing to creative, highquality learning spaces both indoors and outdoors.
• Assist with Monitoring and Administration: Observe and report on pupil progress, behaviour, learning, SEND and safeguarding, maintaining accurate records and support the monitoring and organisation of curriculum resources.
• Support School Activities: Accompany and supervise pupils on educational visits and extracurricular activities. Provide support during tests and examinations as needed.
• Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL): Actively implement and promote highquality outdoor play during lunchtimes as an OPAL playworker, ensuring safe, inclusive and imaginative play opportunities.
• All Stars Holiday Club Provision: Support the planning and delivery of fun, engaging and safe holiday club activities. Supervise children across a variety of age groups, ensuring a positive, active and enriching experience during school holidays.
