We are looking for a compassionate, organised and motivated individual to join our Bereavement Services team as Bereavement Support Team Leader. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting families and ensuring the respectful delivery of vital bereavement services within our community. As Bereavement Support Team Leader, you will deputise in the absence of the Bereavement Services Manager and support with the day-to-day operation of the bereavement offices and crematorium. You will supervise staff working within these areas and help ensure that services are delivered efficiently, professionally and with the highest standards of care. Along with your team you will be responsible for organising and arranging statutory public health funerals. You will also help maintain and develop excellent customer service standards while ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements. Working closely with the Bereavement Services Manager and the Cemetery Team Leader, you will assist in coordinating the facilities and services provided at Carleton Crematorium and Layton Cemetery, helping to ensure operations run smoothly and that bereaved families receive a compassionate and dignified service. Supervise and support staff within bereavement services.
Maintain and develop high standards of customer care for bereaved families and funeral directors.
Organising and arranging statutory public health funerals
Monitor and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Work collaboratively with the Cemetery Team Leader to coordinate services across Carleton Crematorium and Layton Cemetery.
Assist in ensuring the efficient, respectful and professional delivery of bereavement services.
Is compassionate and able to work sensitively with bereaved families.
Has experience supervising staff or supporting team operations.
Can work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
Is committed to delivering high-quality public services.
