Join us at Stockport Council MJ Local Authority of the Year 2025 Your Role We’re really excited to start creating our multi-agency child protection teams (MACPTs) and the lead child protection practitioner (LCPP) role is integral to the functioning of this. The Families First Partnership Programme (FFPP) guide outlines the new LCPP role. The guide states that this social work role should be embedded in the MACPT and that LCPPs should: We are also recruiting to a Lead Child Protection Practitioner with Domestic Abuse Specialism; this role will have a specific focus on those children experiencing harm from high risk and complex domestic abuse; including harmful practises and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). As such, will also involve providing advice and support in various domestic abuse forums, and supporting the development of Compass, our Domestic Abuse Safeguarding and Intervention Hub. In addition to the criteria outlined below, applicants interested in this role must have a comprehensive understanding of domestic abuse, the different forms that this can take and the key risks and protective factors/ safety planning requirements for children and families. As this is a brand-new role, you will need to be creative and responsive, helping us to shape the LCPP role and the MACPT, in line with the guidance under the FFPP. We will work together and you’ll be supported to embed this role into the MACPT. You will be a part of a friendly and ambitious local authority with an approachable and inclusive leadership team.
