The Role
This is a role where your expertise will genuinely make a difference.

As Principal Group Accountant, you will take the lead on a diverse portfolio of major capital, regeneration and growth programmes across the Place and Corporate Resources Directorates. Reporting into the Head of Finance and supporting senior stakeholders, you will guide the organisation through complex financial challenges and help ensure that resources are used to maximum effect. You will influence decision making, provide insightful strategic advice, and deliver robust financial analysis that directly supports better outcomes for Bolton residents.

About You
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced accountant who is forward thinking and able to respond effectively to changing demands. You will have a strong track record of delivering practical and effective financial solutions, demonstrate determination and resourcefulness and communicate with confidence. Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will work with colleagues and partners across a variety of services and disciplines, using your influencing skills and strategic mindset to support effective decision making. You will be able to manage competing priorities, lead and support others, and maintain high standards under pressure.

If you are looking for a role where your financial leadership can shape real world outcomes and you want to be part of a supportive and forward-looking team, we would be delighted to hear from you. While Local Authority experience is desirable, we strongly encourage applicants with transferable skills and experience who can bring added value to the team.
