Learning Mentor

Permanent position


Part Time: 32.5 hours over 5 days (Mon-Fri 8.30-3.30pm). Term Time only.


The position is to start on the 1st September 2026.


Salary: Scale 5 (NJC 12-17) £21,830 actual

The Governors of this small, friendly and inclusive school are seeking to appoint a Learning Mentor. This is brand new role which will further build on the strong Pastoral team already established. You will work closely alongside the Pastoral Lead, SENDCO and Leadership team. We pride ourselves on our individual approach to meeting children’s needs and are quickly becoming a school of choice.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a passion for supporting children with SEMH needs.
  • Understand that all behaviour is a communication
  • Have a positive and welcoming personality
  • Demonstrate previous SEMH or mentoring experience
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, children, agencies and staff
  • Remain calm, positive and empathetic under pressure
  • Enjoy a busy but happy working environment
  • Work with minimum supervision and as part of a team
  • Show excellent communication, literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
  • Be reliable
  • Use initiative to support the Pastoral Team and Senior Leadership Team
