Purpose of the Role:

To take responsibility for agreed learning activities under the supervision of line manager/ headteacher, including planning, preparing, and delivering lessons to individuals, groups, or whole classes. To assess, record, and report on pupil progress and to manage and support other teaching assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver learning activities under line manager supervision.
  • Support pupils’ learning, development, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Promote inclusion and independence.
  • Assess and report on pupil progress, to school, caregivers and pupils.
  • Manage behaviour constructively and support school policies.
  • Support curriculum delivery and adapt resources to meet pupil needs.
  • Use ICT effectively to support learning including specialist equipment.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies as and when required.
  • Attend all INSET training.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans in conjunction with EHCP’s and class teams.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos and values of the school, including a commitment to collaborative and cooperative working with colleagues.
  • Support the planning and delivery of outofschool learning opportunities that reinforce and extend the learning taking place in school.
  • Lead and manage an area of responsibility within school- this is yet to be decided but please indicate what your strengths and interests are in your application. For example, behaviour, sensory processing, multi-sensory impairments, school clubs, etc.
