Based within the Blackpool Centre for Independent Living, Carleton Crematorium and Anchorsholme library, our training Café provides person-led training programme in catering and hospitality, supporting individuals to develop confidence and skills through real café work experience. Nibbles Café is known for delivering high-quality food, excellent customer service and specialist training opportunities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with the public and contributing to a warm, welcoming environment. As a Catering Assistant, you will help ensure the café runs smoothly by carrying out duties including: Assisting with food preparation and kitchen tasks Assisting trainees to use the training till and handle money accurately Taking customer orders and helping to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction Handling customer compliments and complaints professionally Clearing tables, maintaining tidy premises and ensuring safe refuse disposal Keeping the facility clean and in line with council hygiene standards Wearing provided protective clothing at all required times Following Health & Safety and COSHH procedures Reporting any incidents, issues or customer concerns Maintaining accurate records as required Ensuring stock levels are monitored and shortfalls reported Using basic tools and equipment safely and effectively We are looking for someone who is approachable, eager to learn and able to work effectively as part of a supportive team. The role also requires the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of people, including members of the public, attendees, and colleagues.
