Term of Contract: Fixed term until 31/08/2027

Working pattern: Term Time Only

Hours per week: 32.5 hours per week

St. Ethelbert’s is currently seeking a level 2 Teaching Assistant to work in EYFS. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust at the beginning of a journey of transition, development, and growth within the multi-academy trust.

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and skilled TA2 to support teaching and learning in our Reception class. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to provide high-quality support across all areas of the EYFS curriculum, both within adult-led activities and continuous provision. They will help to nurture children’s communication, language, early literacy and number skills through play-based learning, skilled questioning and positive interaction. The role includes observing children’s development, contributing to assessment, supporting pupils with additional needs, and helping to create a safe, stimulating and welcoming classroom environment where every child can achieve, belong and thrive.

We are seeking an individual who has:

  • Experience working in EYFS, preferably with an EYFS qualification
  • At least a level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics
  • The ability to implement literacy / numeracy programmes
  • A willingness to work towards a Paediatric First Aid Certificate
  • Awareness of inclusion in a school setting
  • An understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities
  • The ability to organise and manage learning in ways which keep children safe
  • Positive values, attitudes and behaviours, which can be modelled to the children
  • The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all pupils, families and colleagues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
