Contract Type: Permanent Contract Hours: 37 hours Salary: H02 or H03 £41,771 - £46,412 Closing Date: 30th April 2026 at 5:00 pm We are looking for a committed, skilled Housing Standards Manger to lead a team of Officers involved in private sector housing enforcement and licensing, disabled facilities grants and affordable warmth schemes in Fylde. To apply for this role, you will need to hold or working towards a degree or diploma level in Environmental Health. Ideally you will have Membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health or Housing. You will also need to have current practical knowledge, with significant regulatory and operational experience within private sector enforcement. This role will work closely with the Housing Placement and Compliance Manager to implement and monitor reforms required under the Renters Rights Act and the requirements of the Housing Act 2004. You will need to be effective at supervising a small but busy team of professional officers, have good investigative, decision-making and problem-solving skills, as well as being able to manage your time effectively and work well as part of a team. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to deal confidently and effectively with the public, businesses and members of other organisations. A strong work ethic, ability to manage a varied caseload, positive approach to delivering improvements and a commitment to customer service are essential. You should be self-motivated and confident with a sound knowledge of the relevant law in order to supervise housing inspections including the identification of defects and their remedies. You must have experience of using the Housing, Health and Safety Rating System. You should also have a thorough understanding of the powers available to local authorities to ensure standards in private dwellings and be confident in acting as the Councils principal adviser on all private sector, disabled facilities grant and energy efficiency matters.
