Non-Executive Director / Chair of Audit Committee Blackpool Transport Services Ltd

Allowance payment of £4,250 per year (gross figure)

We are looking to appoint a Non-Executive Director with finance, governance, or audit experience to join the Board of Blackpool Transport Services Ltd.  This role also includes Chairing the Audit Committee.

As the Audit Committee Chair, you will lead on audit and governance and should have a solid understanding of good governance and risk management practices.  The ability to operate at a strategic level and scrutinise performance effectively is essential for the wider duties on the company Board.  Knowledge of the transport industry would be helpful particularly in the bus and / or tram sector.

The successful person will be someone that can make a positive impact and vital contribution in helping the company to maintain its position as the key provider of transport services on the Fylde Coast, with its world-famous tramway and local network of bus services.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the direction of the company as it embarks upon a series of projects including, transition to an all-electric bus fleet as part of the Zero-Emission Bus Regional Area (ZEBRA) project and revitalising Blackpool’s Heritage Trams.

This role will require a time commitment of attendance of Board and committee meetings (approximately eight scheduled meetings plus any ad-hoc meetings), plus training and away days.
