Teacher SEN (Maternity Cover)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher (SEN) - Maternity Cover to join our fantastic team at Pioneer House High School

This is a fixed-term, full-time role covering maternity leave from September 2026 for one academic year or until post holder returns.

This role is working on teaching terms and offering MPS–UPS plus SEN allowance.

We’re looking for:

• You will need to be qualified to teach and work in the UK, with excellent communication skills and the ability to develop effective relationships with students, colleagues and families.
•  Experience of working with children and/or young people with communication needs, or severe, profound or complex learning difficulties is highly desirable.

• As a Teacher, you will be expected to meet the characteristics described in the Professional Standards for Teachers and fulfil the professional responsibilities common to all classroom teachers.

•  You will play a key role in supporting the educational progress of students, improving standards of learning, and raising levels of student achievement across the school.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a Special Educational Needs school, supporting our pupils and colleagues to develop the school community in our beautiful purpose-built building.

• Leading, developing and enhancing the teaching practice or work of others where appropriate
• Taking an active role in the day-to-day life of the school
• Ensuring effective liaison with internal and external support agencies
• Making an active contribution to the school’s ongoing self-evaluation process
