Blackpool Council is a Coast Protection Authority and Lead Local Flood Authority on the North West Coast of England, with robust strategies in place to protect the coastline and inland flooding. Following the submission of Outline Business Cases Blackpool Council have been allocated over £100m from the Environment Agency to deliver significant Coast Protection Schemes. Blackpool Council are looking for an experience Technical Officers to carry out the Supervisor roles on these contracts and to join the Coastal and Environmental Partnerships team to deliver its Coast Protection Schemes and prepare future strategies and business case for future schemes. The Coastal and Environmental Partnerships Team comprises Parks and open Spaces and you will have exciting future opportunities to work with the Parks teams to develop Sustainable opportunities to address actions from both our Climate Emergency Plan and the Councils Blue Green Strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in delivery of major coastal and environmental projects. Blackpool Council are looking for someone with: Experience assisting the Project Manager in Supervising major coastal projects or similar Experience in delivery of construction industry projects NEC 4 Contract Experience Excellent Communication Skills Experience of working in Partnership with external organisations Drive and enthusiasm to deliver projects to meet Partnership objectives For further information on this role please see the attached Job Description to view the Job Description. This post requires access to PSN (Public Services Network) services or networks and the successful post holder will be required to undertake a Basic Disclosure check of unspent convictions through Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). This post is also subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance, evidence of any essential qualifications and proof of legal working in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. The successful applicant will be required to work outside of a 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday work pattern and will receive an additional payment on top of the quoted salary as a result.
