CASUAL CLUB PLAYWORKER

Possible Hours required: After-School Club 3:00pm 6:00pm - Holiday Club: Flexible Hours approx. 6 hours per day
Possible Days Required: Monday - Friday, Term-time and during Holiday Club
Reports to: Club Lead, Club Manager and Senior Leadership Team
Responsible for: The care and safety of children during Club and carrying out engaging activities
Rate of pay: National Minimum Wage - £13.69 (depending on qualification and experience)
Essential: Applicants must be 17+, Level 2 or 3 Qualification in Playworker or Childcare

Appointment will be made subject to an enhanced DBS clearance, satisfactory references and successful probationary period. The Trustees and Governing Body are seeking to appoint a casual Playworker to join our dedicated, supportive and friendly staff, committed to achieving the highest standards.

As a Playworker:-
Main duties include:

To assist with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment for all children.
To implement activities which encourage social, communication and language interaction.
To provide refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, nutrition, oral health and health and safety standards are met.
To administer first aid when necessary.
To consult with children and involve them in planning activities.
To helping with club administration, including record keeping, ordering and purchasing materials and equipment, where necessary.
To encourage child and parental involvement in the club and support.
To facilitate good communication with all members of the club, parents, school and childcare and play related agencies.
To attend meetings as appropriate
To undertake appropriate and relevant training.
To keep the work environment healthy, safe and secure.
To carry out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities’ framework.
To work within agreed club policies and procedures including safeguarding, behaviour management, Health and Safety
To take shared responsibility for the care, maintenance and security of all equipment and toys within the environment.
To deal with all confidential matters with tact and discretion
To help children acquire self-help skills including dressing, feeding, toileting and an awareness of personal hygiene.
To follow the school’s intimate care policy.
Such other duties, as may reasonably be required, within the grading of this post.

Additional Duties include:

Assist the Club lead and children in a club setting; groups and/or individuals
Support all pupils, including those aged 3-5 and staff within the school
