The Housing Options Service delivers a wide variety of services to some of the most vulnerable residents of Blackpool. We are looking for someone to join us at Housing Options to help us deliver on our duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. As a Housing Options Officer you will help provide a comprehensive frontline advice and assessment service, focused on early intervention and homeless prevention, which delivers the Council's statutory responsibilities as they relate to homelessness and allocations. We are therefore, looking for someone with experience of delivering a frontline service to homeless and vulnerable households, including those with chaotic lifestyles and complex issues. You will have excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills and an ability to communicate with people at all levels. You should have a working knowledge of relevant legislation and knowledge of the housing options available to vulnerable households. Ideally you will also have a flexible and practical approach and be able to develop creative solutions to complex problems.
