We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Food Technology to join our fantastic team at MEA Central

This is a permanent, full-time role starting September 2026. The salary for this post is MPS/UPS on the Teachers Pay Scale.

We’re looking for:

MEA Central is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Food Technology to join our thriving Design & Technology faculty. This is an excellent opportunity for an inspiring teacher who is passionate about delivering high‑quality Food Technology education and making a positive impact on students’ learning.

Main purpose of the job:

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well‑planned Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students to develop practical skills, creativity and a strong understanding of nutrition, food science and preparation. You will play an active role in maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour within the department.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be a qualified teacher (or ECT) with a specialism in Food Technology
  • Have strong subject knowledge and a passion for practical, hands‑on learning
  • Deliver consistently high‑quality teaching that inspires and motivates students
  • Have high expectations of students’ progress, achievement and behaviour
  • Be committed to inclusive practice and raising outcomes for all learners
  • Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team
