Post: Teacher (Primary SEND Provision - The Bridge)

Base: Chesham Primary Academy, Talbot Grove, Bury, BL9 6PH.

Please note: The post holder will be engaging in regulated activity, working mainly or wholly with children. This position is exempt from the rehabilitation of offender’s act 1974. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

We are seeking an exceptional classroom practitioner to lead The Bridge our in-school SEND provision supporting pupils to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

About the Role

This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to:

  • Lead and develop The Bridge, a specialist provision within our school

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, adaptive teaching for pupils with a range of additional needs

  • Create a nurturing, structured environment where children feel safe, understood and successful

  • Work closely with class teachers to support reintegration and inclusive practice

  • Deploy and guide support staff effectively to maximise pupil outcomes

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has a strong understanding of child development and how this impacts learning and behaviour

  • Is highly skilled in scaffolding learning to meet individual needs

  • Demonstrates excellent adaptive teaching strategies

  • Can lead, direct and deploy additional adults effectively to support learning

  • Has experience working with pupils with SEND (including SEMH needs)

  • Builds positive, trusting relationships with children and families

  • Is reflective, resilient and committed to continuous improvement
