The Wings CE Trust St Mark’s CE Primary School Alexandra Street Newtown, Wigan Postcode: WN5 9DS Salary: Grade 7, £28,630 - £31,937 per annum. 37 hours per week, term time plus 2 weeks working 40 weeks per year Temporary to Cover Maternity Required for July 2026 St Mark’s Church of England Primary School is seeking to appoint an inspirational, dedicated Nursery Manager to join our thriving school community and play a pivotal role in shaping outstanding early years provision. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a nurturing, high-quality setting that supports children to flourish, learn, and grow in a safe and stimulating environment. Job purpose: To play an active role in the strategic planning of the school as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and to strategically manage and coordinate the setting in the absence of the Headteacher. The successful candidate will lead and manage high-quality childcare provision for children in line with current legislation, including the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework. About the Role The Nursery Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the childcare setting, ensuring full compliance with the EYFS Framework and all relevant legislation. They will lead on the effective implementation of the EYFS, maintaining high standards across the seven areas of learning and development, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding and welfare requirements. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the postholder will ensure that all policies and proceduresincluding safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour, and inclusionremain up to date and compliant with statutory and local authority guidance. The role also requires building strong partnerships with parents/carers, Ofsted, and external agencies to support continuous improvement and high-quality provision, while ensuring the delivery of programmes linked to local and national early years strategies.
