We are seeking an ambitious, inspiring and forward-thinking practitioner to join us at KPHS as Second in English. This is an ideal role for an ambitious and reflective candidate who is looking to develop their leadership skills within a supportive and high-expectation environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will support the Faculty Lead in driving improvements, encouraging curriculum excellence, raising outcomes and developing a high-performing team.
  • Lead, inspire and line manage middle leaders and teaching staff across the faculty
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of targeted intervention strategies, particularly at Key Stage 4.
  • Align subject intent and provision with the school vision: We Cooperate, We Pioneer, We Belong
  • Coach and develop colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practice
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4, modelling high quality teaching.
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement, enrichment and leadership initiatives
  • Play an active role in the wider life of the school community

What We Are Looking For:

  • Qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with English speciality
  • Outstanding classroom practitioner with a track record of strong GCSE results
  • Strong understanding of curriculum design, implementation and impact
  • Skilled in using assessment and data to inform improvement strategies
  • Committed to inclusion, high expectations and removing barriers to success
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills
  • Eager to contribute to the wider life and values of the school
