Leigh Central Primary School is a welcoming and diverse one-form entry primary school in the middle of Leigh town centre. The children and their families are very important to us and are central to all we do. The Governors are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, creative, experienced dedicated and effective classroom practitioner who can best meet the needs of our children and their families.

The successful candidate will:

• be an outstanding classroom practitioner who has a proven track record of working with children with a wide range of educational needs.
• be passionate about learning and able to demonstrate a commitment to the aims, purpose and ethos of our diverse school.
• be an effective communicator with all members of the school community.
• have experience of working effectively within Key Stage Two.
• have a strong understanding of the National Curriculum (KS2).
• be flexible in their approach, open to new ideas and a team player who is keen to contribute to our Key Stage Two team.
• have effective behaviour management skills and an understanding of trauma informed approaches.
• have a good understanding of SEND needs and how to adapt their teaching to meet these.
• make learning fun and purposeful.
• be committed to safeguarding children’s welfare and keeping them safe.

The interview process will consist of a teaching observation followed by an interview with two members of the senior leadership team and an unseen task.

All candidates will be required to demonstrate their ability to meet and maintain all Professional Standards for Teachers.
