Temporary position

Westfield Community School are looking to appoint a class teacher to cover a maternity leave within KS1 from 1st September 2026.

Initially 2 terms

The successful candidate will be joining our dedicated team of teachers.

They will be required to plan, organise, and assess the pupils learning across all areas of the curriculum.

  • You must be able to positively promote the vision and ethos of Westfield HOPE.
  • Have high expectations for all groups of learners’ achievement and behaviour.
  • Ensure children make progress from their starting points through establishing a creative and personalised curriculum.
  • Enjoy working with pupils, parents and colleagues to create the best outcomes for all pupils.
  • Have a sound knowledge and understanding of Phonics and KS1 curriculum.
  • Understand how to assess and moderate learning within the curriculum.
  • Have excellent communication skills and an understanding of the importance of effective communication with parents and carers.

All candidates will be required to demonstrate their ability to meet and maintain all Professional Standards for teachers.
