Hours: 37 per week

Salary: NJC Grade E SCP 12-17 £28,598 - £31,022 per annum plus 2 increments for weekend working

The successful candidate will provide a responsive social care service to vulnerable individuals with/without a learning disabilities, forensic needs and mental health needs who may communicate by way of exhibiting behaviours that can be considered as challenging and/or aggressive.

There is a requirement for flexibility in the role to ensure the needs of the service users are fully met, ensuring a person-centred approach.

There is an expectation that the successful candidate will work some weekend shifts, ensuring the individuals within the service receive the support they require.

The successful applicant will join an established service providing a range of support including some aspects of personal care, safe administration of medication, assistance with the making of food and drinks, domestic duties where appropriate and all aspects of record keeping in line with service guidelines, policies and procedures.

The successful applicant will be required to work across the service with various individuals. Team work and communication with colleagues is important and as most of the shifts involve ‘lone working’, often in some difficult and challenging environments, compliance with all Health and Safety regulations is essential.

There is a contractual requirement for the successful candidate to undertake sleep-ins within the Extra Support Service to meet the needs of the service users we support.

Previous experience of working within a care and support setting is essential, with a good knowledge of individuals who may demonstrate challenging behaviour.
